Students may sign up for a SCOIR account at any time. During the account registration process, they are prompted to "link" to their high school. If their high school is not yet using SCOIR or if they chose to skip that step, they can register their account without linking.
If their high school is using SCOIR, students will want to link their accounts with their high school to request and send letters of recommendation and transcripts to colleges. Here's how ...
Sign into SCOIR. Navigate to your name in the top right corner and select the Profile tab.
Navigate to the right side of the profile tab where 'Current High School' is located. Click the +Add High School Button.
Begin typing the name of the high school and select this high school from the drop down menu. If the high school is not listed, please contact SCOIR support at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Once selected, click the Save button.
This process adds the high school but you must 'link' to that school. Please click on the Link your account button.
Students will be required to enter their HS Student ID and their Date of Birth. Then click "Find" to locate the student in that high school.
Select the birth year, month and day.
Finally, click 'Find'.
SCOIR will put the data which matches that student record. Please confirm if this is correct, or contact email@example.com to get further assistance and/or your student ID.
If correct, you will now be linked with your high school and it will show ACTIVE.
