Logging into SCOIR provides a landing page for your Student. Confirm that if a household has multiple Students, the correct student is displayed.
Next, your Student's College choices (if Student made selections) will appear on the page.
'Applied' indicates the college which your student has applied already.
'Applying' indicates those colleges which your student is interested in applying but may not have actually sent applications for.
'Following' indicates the schools of interest that were worth saving.
Scrolling down the page will bring you to each section mentioned above.
Immediately displayed are the costs associated with each College selected. Financial information can be added and changed as needed. (This is covered in the Financial section of the Parent help documents.)
Clicking on the College name will open up detailed information for each school.
Overview is derived from College Scorecard and IPeds data. The Wall provides a cultural overview of the college and includes active clubs or activities, along with links to access facebook pages. This is to help provide the student with real data of actual activities offered by that college.
Changing Tab selection to 'Suggested' allows insight to the status of Colleges that the Parent suggested to the Student. When a Parent suggests a College, the Student has the ability to either 'Follow or Dismiss' the suggestion. Also no action can be taken which may mean the Student has done nothing with the suggested College(s). Suggesting colleges to your student can be found here.
The Analysis tab is used to project probability of admission to the College, based on a previous history of students at the same high school who have also applied to this College. This information is available only if the high school has provided historical data for previous class years. A scattergram will show where your student falls in relation to others at this high school.
Your student will be indicated by the purple star.
