Suggesting colleges to a student lets them know you are following and care about their college selection process. There are two ways to suggest a college.
NOTE: Please refrain from making college suggestions to students prior to the student registering their SCOIR account. Students should be on the platform and linked with your high school prior to using this feature.
1. Suggest College By Name. To make a student aware of a specific college, simply type in the name of the college from the student's profile page (located beneath the list of colleges that they are following), then press the Suggest button.
2. Search For a College. To conduct a college search on behalf of a student, select SEARCH FOR A COLLEGE from the "Colleges" page on the student's profile.
This displays the full College Search screen with the student's saved search criteria applied, which you can modify. When you identify a college you want to suggest, press "Suggest" button in the right corner of that college tile.
NOTE: ONCE A COLLEGE IS SUGGESTED, IT WILL BE GRAY SO THAT A COUNSELOR CANNOT SUGGEST IT MORE THAN ONCE. However, clicking the suggest button twice quickly, will result in a duplicate.
These suggested schools will be reflected in the Student Profile screen as shown above.
