SCOIR has created an app for Android, support up to version Nougat.
Navigate to the Google Play to download the free SCOIR app.
To sign in to Scoir, enter the email and password of your registered student account.
If you’ve forgotten your password, tap on the Password link below Sign In.
If you’ve created a Scoir account using your Facebook account, tap on the Facebook icon at the bottom of the page to sign in using your Facebook credentials.
If you don’t yet have a Scoir account, tap Register and follow the registration process. Once your account has been verified, come back to the application to sign in.
The home screen hosts the college search functionality of Scoir, as well as helpful tooltips that will guide you through the various features the app provides.
If you know what college you are looking for, simply enter the college’s name in the search bar.
If you’d like to browse all of the colleges available on Scoir, tap Advanced Search.
Scoir allows you to have two saved searches: a Primary search that will be shared with parents and counselors connected to your account, and a saved search that is only visible to you and hidden from parents and counselors. You can toggle between these two searches at any time, and any changes made to your filters will be auto-saved when you tap Done to initiate the search.
By default, Scoir filters colleges based on those offering four-year bachelor’s degrees that are located in the United States. You can always reset your search to these defaults by tapping the Reset button at the top left of the screen.
Scoir offers a variety of different search criteria to narrow down your college search. To set individual filters, simply tap on the filter you’d like to set, set your preferred parameters for that filter, and tap on the back carrot at the top left of the screen to be brought back to the advanced search screen.
Once you’re finished setting your filtering parameters, tap Done to be brought to your results on the College Search page.
College Search List
A list of colleges that match your filtering criteria will be displayed here. To see more information on a college, tap on the college tile.
The college details page is split into two sections: Overview and Wall.
To follow a college and add it to My Colleges, tap on the bookmark icon at the top right of the college details page.
The college details overview page explains various details and statistics about a specific college, including admissions statistics and cost and financial aid data.
The college wall displays all Scoir curated notes pertaining to a specific college. To pin a note to your personal notebook, tap on an image from the college wall, then tap the pin icon on the bottom left corner of the note.
The my colleges tab presents a list of all colleges you are following and have favorited.
To favorite a college you are following, tap the three small dots on the right side of the college’s tile. This will bring that college to the top of your my colleges list. You can favorite up to six colleges at a time. Tap the star icon again to unfavorite a college.
To unfollow a college and remove it from your my colleges list, utilize the three small dots in the college tile.
The notebooks tab displays all of your personal notebooks organized alphabetically by college. You can have one notebook per college.
To view a notebook for a college, tap on the college tile representing that school’s notebook.
To add a note, tap the plus button at the bottom right side of the screen.
Notes can be taken directly from your camera, added from your photo library, or taken as text. Allowing Scoir to access your location will automatically default your new note to the college closest to you. If this school is not the target of your note, tap the Change School button at the right of the modal. You have 256 characters of text per note.
The messaging tab will house all of the messages between you and your counselor, as well as all of your notifications.
NOTE: In order to use the messaging feature, you must be linked to a school that is active on Scoir.
To start a new conversation with your counselor, tap the pencil icon at the bottom right of the screen. You will get a list of counselors in your school that you are able to message.
Type in your message and click send.
Notifications will be displayed by most recent descending.
The profile tab allows you to view your personal profile information, as well as sign out of Scior.
Certain fields in your personal information can be edited on mobile, such as your preferred account email and phone number. Additional information must be edited on a non-mobile browser.
Visits & To-Do
Students can register and unregister for colleges visits which are on the Scoir Calendar. Click on the 'person' tab to access Visits and To-Do.
Select Visits and To-Do.
These can be filtered by All confirmed calendar visits, or only those confirmed visits by colleges which are on your My College tab.
College visits will be displayed. Visits can either be single college visits or multi-college visits which include multiple colleges at one time.
To Register, open the visit and click on the Register button. When a student registers for a visit, it will be displayed by the green check box.
To Unregister, open the visit and click the Unregister button.
Visits are subject to specifications that a counselor assigns and sometimes are limited to certain class years. In that case, students may only sign up if they fit the criteria specified by the counselor. These will be noted as such.
