When students are invited to SCOIR using email, there are currently two processes which can be followed.
1. Counselors can send a direct invite to students to create an account
2. Counselors may provide a school-specific URL to the student to sign up via email which will link students with the high school.
Both choices provide students with an email similar to the one below:
Students will click the Sign Up Now! link:
This will bring the student to a screen to enter their information:
If all of the information on this is correct, Students should enter a password, certify that they are over the age of 13, confirm they are not a robot and click Sign up. This will register their SCOIR account.
Option 2, students may be given a school-specific URL to use. In that case, the high school will automatically populate for the students as well as the student name, when it is matched to the student's email or student ID. If all of this information is correct, again, enter a password, click 'over 13' and 'not a robot' to sign up and create the account.
The student will be asked a few questions to get them started. These are not required, but will be a great help in their College Search.
Clicking 'Got it!' will bring the student to the main SCOIR screen.
The Student can now begin their College Search!
